Why dissolve rather than add more?

When filler has built up, migrated, or shifted, adding more rarely corrects it and often compounds the problem. Dissolving allows the area to reset completely, so the result can be rebuilt cleanly, in balance, and in proportion with the rest of your face.

Is the result permanent?

For the filler being dissolved, yes. Hyaluronidase removes the hyaluronic acid itself, so its dissolution is permanent. Your own tissues are unaffected and return to their natural state. Any future filler is then placed onto a clean, balanced base.

Is a patch test needed?

Yes, always. A patch test for the enzyme is carried out within the same appointment, before we dissolve anything. It is a simple, standard safety step, and part of why this is always treated as a medical procedure.

When can I have new filler afterwards?

This depends on the area and how it responds, often around two to four weeks once everything has fully settled. We guide this timing for you personally, so the rebuild is never rushed.

Is a consultation required?

What is Hyaluronidase?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid filler. It is used to correct over-treatment, migration, or unevenness, and to reset an area before rebuilding.

It is a precise, medical treatment. We assess what is present and why before recommending it, and we never dissolve without a clear plan for the result. Because the enzyme removes the filler itself, the dissolution of pure hyaluronic acid is permanent: once it is gone, it is gone, and the area returns to its natural state.

The enzyme is injected into the areas where filler is to be removed. It begins working within hours, and the area continues to settle over the following days.

The result is permanent for the dissolved filler. Where a rebuild is planned, we allow the tissue to recover fully before any new treatment, with timing guided clinically.

Your treatment

A patch test for the enzyme is always carried out, within the same appointment. The enzyme is then injected into the treated areas, with the appointment taking up to forty-five minutes. A separate repeat visit is not needed, except in the rare event of an allergic reaction, in which case we stay with you, support you, and talk through the alternatives.

Your aftercare

Mild swelling is normal and settles within days, and you are never left to wait it out alone. Our client care team checks in and stays in close contact while the area settles, and we guide the timing of any planned rebuild based on exactly how you recover. By the time the swelling has gone, you have a clean, balanced base and a clear plan for what comes next.

Dissolving migrated filler and rebuilding definition

Combined with hyaluronidase

This patient came to us with previously migrated lip filler, so treatment began with dissolution and time for the tissue to settle. We then placed 0.5 ml of hyaluronic acid filler by needle along the vermilion border, avoiding the wet-dry border, to rebuild definition without overloading the lip.
